Hi

I was the happy owner of a HT- 5H MkII and a HT-408 cabinet.

Until I recently moved it from one room to another.
I disconnected all cables and reconnected everything.
No sound, except for the headphones.
There is light in the tubes.
I am afraid that I have switched on the amplifier before having the cabinet connected

Any one has have the same (bad) experience?

How to possibly fix that?
Has anyone access to a maintenance manual or diagrams for that model?

This is a relatively new model that has almost not been used.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Best regards
Denis

Hi Denis,

Sorry to hear about your trouble. There's nothing more frustrating than a great amp with no sound coming out!

I'm no expert, but if you did switch on without an amp connected you've probably just blown a fuse. Disconnect the amp from the mains and have a look round the back for the 'HT FUSE' compartment. If you have, or know someone with a multimeter, you can check it for continuity. If not, assume it's failed and get a replacement from an electrical wholesale store.
Oh, and make sure you get the same type! All fuses have an amp rating, but some are 'quick blow', some are 'slow blow', some are surge protected... All the details you need will be stamped into the metal end of the fuse.

If you're struggling, let me know and I'll pop upstairs and have a look at the one in my HT5.

Hope this helps,

STIJ

Thank you for replying.

Checking cables and fuses were the first things I did.
I also found a fuse on the print board . It was also OK.
I have delivered the amp to a local amp workshop.
I'll update the forum with the outcome.
