HT Dual into direct Power amp?

Has anyone ever tried to run the HT pedals directly into a power amp of some sort? I haven't bought a power amp, looking at a Mesa 20/20. I'm thinking that since the HT Dual is technically a preamp, I'm thinking it should be fine running it direct to a stand alone power amp. I'm asking here since I haven't tried, nor bought the power amp yet. I'm debating on whether or not this would work out and sound ok? I have tried to place the HT dual into the loop of my Mesa Mark V and it sucked. I also placed it in front of the amp, doesn't get the sound I need. I do like the pedal, but I like the natural sound of it (such as guitar into the pedal, and using either the redbox cab sim into a mixer, or using the standard output into a poweramp.)
