I just bought a Blackstar HT Soloist 60 amp. It is awesome. I love the clean channel and the overdrive channel has a great Marshall vibe to it. Have a question though...

If I own this amp, would there be any benefit to getting one of the Blackstar distortion pedals? Do any of them have a heavy metal/modern rock sound that comes close to a 6505 or Dual Rectifier?

Might be a dumb question, but I figure I would ask...

Get an OD pedal to boost the dirty channel. That will get you into 6505 territory for the metal chug sounds. I use a tube screamer.
