Hi There,

I have an HT-Metal pedal that I decided to see how much better/worse a swap of the stock 12AX7 would be so I removed the stock one and noticed an orange light under where the tube sits. After making the swap I noticed the new tube didn’t seem to make much of difference. So I’m wondering if the tube is just for show or if it’s actually a functional part of the pedal. Anybody know the answer for sure?

The tube is functional; however swapping out different brands of 12AX7s may not have any noticeable effect.

Thanks for the reply. I think I notice a difference in tubes when swapping them in the HT- Metal. I had a bad experience with another piece of gear that was said to be all tube but turned out to only have orange Christmas lights glowing thru a grill instead. I saw the light and was a little worried. Lol
