HT-Drive power supply

My drive pedal went dead and silent.. And when i tested the power adapter i found it to be dead.
No power coming out. I tried a 12v adapter and led was shining but still no sound..
Next step was to search the internet for a replacement adapter but there isn't anyone around!
Bugger...
So Q is: Can i use any adapter e.g. computer so with the right 16V 0.8A and take the pin from the original broken one?
