Although my Blackstar ID:Core Stereo 20 sounds great all on its own I found it can take an overdrive pedal quite well using the Clean Warm voicing with around 10:00 gain. Here's a photo of my Yngwie Malmsteen signature DOD YJM308 Preamp Overdrive that I just modded (grey spec, true-bypass, led, standard dc power jack, vintage knobs) and it goes perfect with my "Blackstar" just like Rising Force. \m/
Does anyone else do this? I'd love to try my pedals with a low wattage tube amp like a Blackstar HT5 someday but not sure how it would interact with the gain 'boost' channel or if I'd have to use the clean tube channel instead. What are your experiences with this?
