Hey Blackstar users!
This post is regarding an 'OSStatus Error -5000' error that a handful Mac OS INSIDER users are experiencing.
The latest release of INSIDER appears to have been affected by the permissions of certain Mac OS machines, thus preventing INSIDER from functioning correctly. To rectify this, please complete the following:
- Open finder, then in the taskbar click - 'Go' - and choose - 'Go to Folder...' - then copy and paste the following line for the directory: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Silverlight/OutOfBrowser
- There will more than likely be a folder with a red logo in the bottom corner. This highlights the fact that your Mac is preventing access to the folder.
- Right click this folder, and select – ‘Get Info’.
- Scroll down to – ‘Sharing & Permissions’ – and enable access to ‘Read and Write’. Ensure this access is granted either to ‘Everyone’, or to the user profile you are using if more than one exists. (You may need to unlock the parameters in order to this, which can be done via the padlock found at the bottom right of the Get Info window.)
Please note: the Tilda ‘~’ is very important. There should be at least one folder whose name is a series of numbers followed by ‘.localhost’. E.g. ‘3410321256.localhost’.

INSIDER 1.7.8 | 'OSStatus Error -5000' | IMPORTANT NOTICE
Not working here and it says the system has read/write access. Thoughts please? I purchased my ID Core a year ago and was told that Blackstar are working on this. Remember Mac has now moved on to Mojave.
I feel robbed as the amp cannot work as advertised through no fault of my own.

I dowloaded the Insider image file for Mac, now that the site is back working, and have not been able to make it run, after installation. When I open the app all I get is white rectangle, with a little silverlight logo on the upper left corner..
Need help...please it is now more than a week since I bought my amp and have not been able to do anything with Insider..as could not even install it!!
