Tone:Link Bluetooth Receiver - Loud pops

There are multiple loud pops during operation when it is connected to powered speakers without LF/DC cut-off.
Without exact measurements, but after some tinkering, it seams that the line out signal is not stable between or at power-on/off, resume/enter sleep mode, connect/disconnect and bluetooth pairing operations.
This is probably fixable in software but I have not found any firmware updates.
