External Speaker Connection

so if you replace the speakers in the id260 with 2 8ohm speakers the amp will be less loud?

in theory it'll be less loud because the amp doesn't have the same power output with 8 ohm speakers connected but you can just turn up the master more.

Hi. I am using I'd 260 with 8 ohm speakers (celestion super lead. And v30)
I know its strange but Amp is much louder now I am using the same settings
Maybe my original speakers was faulty ,I got this amp second hand
Amp was loud with original speakers but now is completely different amp.
Need to roll off some treble because this speakers is much brighter.

great info, thanks guys. besides volume loss at 8 or 16, did you lose any tone (hi's or low's)/ Also, my ID60TVPH has 2 outputs. Is there a benefit to using to outs to my marshall 4x12 which has a stereo selector on it, versus just using 1 output for mono? Does it matter on the head if I use the left or right output?
