Yes, I too am Ohm impaired. If pairing the head with the HTV212 can I run in stereo or is this just a feature of the TVP260? I beleive that I would just need one cable from the head to the cabinet (8ohm mono) is this correct? Thanks for helping a combo amp convert with his first amp head.

You are correct that only the combo 260 is stereo.

Both the 60 and 100 watt heads are mono.

Just one cable needed.

This in in regards to the Head only . As a matter of fact it is perfectly safe to use any speaker cabinet rated between 4 - 16 Ohms. The 4 Ohm marking relates to the 'minimum' load the amp will accept. As it is a solid state power section it works somewhat differently to valve power sections. In general you get full power at 4 Ohms, around two thirds power at 8 Ohms and around a third of the power at 16 Ohms. With a 100W ID head and a 16 ohm speaker cab , it puts out about 35W (valve loud) which is more than enough (even with a loud drummer) in a pub or wedding setting . You can always hook it to a PA if needed but I don't think you will . I still love Blackstar this ID 100W Head !
