Hi

Has anyone got Insider running under linux, either natively, or via a virtual machine? I can get it to run under VirtualBox, but it can't see my amplifier.

How does the Mac version work? I didn't think Silverlight was supported on Macs.

Many thanks

Simon

Near as I can tell, the Win version of Insider is built using .net You might try checking out the Linux MONO project, it is supposed to be a .net compatible framework for Linux. As always when using an emulation of something else, YMMV.

Silverlight is supported on Intel Macs!

Insider v1.5 software works fine on MacOS 10.9.4

I haven't tried it on my Linux box yet, but in VirtualBox, did you pass full control of that USB port/ID Amp over to the virtual machine? It may be that the amp is still "attached" to the host. Or does the amp even show up in the virtual machine?

Also, di you install VirtualBox Extensions in the guest OS?

I know this is an old thread but for anyone still interested you can get Insider running in virtual box 4.3. I've currently got ubuntu on my chromebook running virtualbox working without issue. Upgrading to virtualbox 5 breaks everything and it just doesn't work. You'll need to install guest additions. After that the amp shows up.

My setup - Virtualbox 4.3.6 -> WinXP SP3 w/insider 1.7
