I am looking to make some mods to my ID:Core 10 and, in particular, would like to add the ability to connect to two external speaker cabinets. Does anyone know what the impedance of the internal speakers is?

So what happen? What was the impedance and did you do the mod? Please share because I NEED to do this also. I have an ID: Core 40 and I need a speaker out!

From looking at that, it appears I could just do a 4 ohm out for each speaker, but before I take this thing apart, I'd like to have all my info. Any info to share folks?

I have yet to do the mod and do not know when if ever I will. However, should I do so in the future it will be output to a single 12" speaker cab.

If you run 2 x 4 ohm speakers the impedance will drop to 2 ohms. I modded my ID15 TVP to be able to run an external speaker. If this is what you are doing and you plan to run a 2x10 or 2x12, make sure both speakers are rated at 8 ohms in your cab and you wire the speakers in parallel as it will drop the speaker rating to 4 ohms. (It's easier than it sounds!). What happens is the impedance will drop to 2 ohms if you have 2 speakers rated at 4 ohms. Solid state power amps are best run with speaker ratings of 4 ohms as they will be a bit louder. If you use a speaker rated at 8 ohms you will get roughly a 3-4 db drop in headroom. (Half as loud as it was before!) So just bear that in mind.
