You need to install Blackstar Insider first.

I haven't tried Windows 10 with my ID:Core 20 yet, but the usual advice for Windows missing USB drivers issue is to try plugging into different USB ports and restarting the computer. Beyond that there's fiddling with allowing unsigned drivers.

i was told today by blackstar that the issue is with my usb ports not the amp, so i have tried all 4 usb ports and i get the same not detected message, i have disabled one port shut down and restarted so that an auto download starts, device manager says the i am running the best drivers for my ports and still its not working, i have no problems using any of these ports with any other device just this amp. im totally positive its down to the software in the amp. guess all i can do is wait and see if blackstar get back to me, if not then the amp will go back to the store for a replacement

Make sure that Microsoft's .net framework 4.5 is installed.

Try uninstalling Insider. Then restart your computer and reinstall Insider.
If it still isn't working, uninstall it again and try an older version of Insider from here - http://www.blackstarinsider.co.uk/previous-releases.php

And have a look at this previous post.

thanks for that certainly made good reading, i already have framework.net v4.5 running and the latest silverlight 5 running, i have unistalled insider then shut down and reisntalled, no difference so i unistalled again then went to your link for the older version and all the links on that come up with server not found so looks like blackstar have got rid of them. i even tried downloading the latest asio drivers but that hasnt helped either

Probably a stupid question, but have you tried a different USB cable? You never know.

It's only v1.70 and 1.6.2 that are missing. The rest work.
Or you can try my links.

I have uploaded v1.6.2 and 1.7 below.

V1.6.2 http://speedy.sh/JgBkS/Install-Blacksta ... .2.122.exe

thanks for all the help guys. Its now finally sorted, blackstar have been great and helped me through emails. i had to reset the amp to factory settings and then open insider in GOD mode which forced the amp to download new firmware, once this was done the amp and the pc started talking to eachother as they should.
now i can get on with learning my 6 string and my 3 string cbg
