ID 260 Effects Loop questions

Thinking about splashing some cash on an ID260 but I'm a bit concerned about the Fx loop after seeing some feedback in various places.

Firstly, is it any good? Some are saying it's not and basically trashes the sound if you use it.

Secondly, does anyone know if it's stereo enabled on the send and/or return? Would be a shame to not be able to fully utilise stereo fx on a stereo amp..
