I thought I had found the fix for this problem but, brand new amp takes over 5 minutes before output becomes available. When this happens, the amp functions perfectly, no noise , crackling , `pops` or smells. I have ordered replacement pre-amp and powertubes, but I`m flying blind. Any ideas out there? PS, when output `arrives`, I`ts there immediately, it does not gradually feed in.

Speakers do need to break in, but usually they sound warmer/less brittle after so (of course, depending on the model). Which speaker is in the Artist?
