Speaker Upgrades
Most of you ID:Core owners know this, maybe... maybe not...., but the speakers in these amps are Full Range speakers, not Musical Instrument speakers. To put it simply... these are boom box speakers. Not very good ones either (IMHO). I know this may upset a lot of people, but I'm just calling it as I see it. Recently I did an upgrade that I think turned my Blackstar into something a little more enjoyable and a whole lot better sounding. I replaced the stock 6-1/2" full range speakers with Eminence 6-1/2" guitar speakers. Both are 20 watt, both are 4 ohm, and they fit right in with no modifications. Sonic quality was much improved! It now sounds like a guitar amp. I bought the speakers from Parts Express, at $12.58 each, plus shipping ($7.00).

I had wondered about that. Anyway, my new Eminence speakers got here a couple days ago and today they are going into my ID:Core 40...............81xlh1000 wrote:Most of you ID:Core owners know this, maybe... maybe not...., but the speakers in these amps are Full Range speakers, not Musical Instrument speakers. I know my ID:Core 20 V2 sounds a lot better with headphones than with the stock speakers.
