iD Stereo 10
A friend of mine gave me an ID Stereo 10. I'm basically computer illiterate. How do you use this? I downloaded the manual & I can do the basic stuff (get sounds out of it, get reverb) but when I hook it up to a computer, I get nothing on the screen. Is there something that has to be downloaded. Could someone tell me in simple English how to take advantage of the features without getting into computer jargon. Thank's in advance.

Computers are stupid, like cars.
A car won't move unless you take off the brake hit the accelerator: a computer won't do anything without a program.
Unless you run a program to tell it to look for a specific connection and then do something with the signal from it, it will do exactly what you're experiencing, pretty close to nothing.
You will, unfortunately, need to become computer literate enough in some way just to at least download the Insider software to save patches you've created.
But I suspect that you may also want to hear the tones through the computer.
For that, you'll need some recording software... and that's where the fun begins...
