ID Core 100 Volume Pedal in FX Loop

I would like to be able to control the master volume of the ID Core 100 using a volume pedal without affecting the gain/drive settings.

Unfortunately I could not find a block diagram or any other detailed information on the FX loop of the amp. Is this the classical type of FX loop beween preamp and power amp stage or, in other words, is it possible to insert a volume pedal into the amp's FX loop?

I would normally simply try out such a setup but I haven't got a volume pedal and I'd like to gather more information before I buy one...

havent tried that myself, but I would say the fx loop is post preamp and before the power amp

Thank you miket, I thought as much!
All I needed was a confirmation, now I know that I need to try a lo-z pedal.
