I’m curious about the signal flow on the ID: Core 100, especially after the effects loop. Is there particular modeling of power amp that happens after the effects loop? Or is the signal just going through the delay and reverb and then split to the power amp and direct out?

Hello, as I know, the ID: Core 100 amplifier has a specific signal flow that includes the effects loop and modeling of the power amp stage. Here's a breakdown of the signal flow after the effects loop on the ID: Core 100:

  • Guitar Input: The guitar signal is connected to the amplifier's input.
  • Preamp Stage: The guitar signal passes through the preamp stage, where the modeling and shaping of the tone occur. This stage emulates the characteristics of various amplifier types and allows you to select different amp models and adjust their settings.
  • Effects Loop: If you choose to use the effects loop, you can connect external effects pedals or processors to the amplifier. The effects loop allows you to place your effects after the preamp stage, preserving the amp's tone while integrating your preferred external effects.
  • Post-Effects Loop Processing: After the effects loop, the signal continues through the amplifier's internal effects, such as delay and reverb. These effects can be adjusted and mixed to your preference using the amplifier's controls.
  • Power Amp Modeling: The ID: Core 100 includes power amp modeling, which emulates the characteristics of different power amp stages. This modeling helps shape the overall tone and response of the amplifier, giving you a more authentic feel and sound.
  • Output Options: The signal is then split into different outputs. The main output is connected to the built-in speaker(s) of the amplifier, allowing you to hear the sound directly. Additionally, the amplifier may feature a direct out option, which sends the signal to an external recording device or PA system.
