Hi,
I have the ID Core 20 and I was wonder what kind of equipment would I need to add to be able to use vocals, or is that not possible.

As a beginner my knowledge of what's out there is limited.

I have a 20 V2 and use a Zoom recorder to send mic output into the MP3/line-in input.

Any mixer or pedal or whatever that sends a line level signal will do. If you don't have a mic maybe you can use some kind of phone app and use the mic from there.
