i tried the id series a few years back. a nice amp, but not what I was looking for. my search then went on hold.

a local store had a used club 40 on the floor. having not played a b*, I decided it give it a try, and was impressed. unfortunately, the amp was gone by the time I got back-bummer.

fast forward a few weeks, and I notice that sweetwater had the soloist 60 on sale for 499.00. had to wait a little bit for it to come in, but it was worth the wait. I can't believe the clean sound in this amp-with just a single tone control!

the only thing I noticed that was a bit strange was some of the noise the amp made as it is warming up. it only lasts for a bit, then everything is fine.

if anyone has advice on tube changes when the time comes, I would appreciate it it. I am thinking of changing the preamp tubes to give a little less distortion. if anyone has anything to add I would appreciate it.
