Reverb Noisy

just got the studio 10 el34 model. why is the reverb so noisy? i have an inexpensive biyang reverb pedal that sounds much better and is quiet, so i reckon it couldn't cost much to have given the studio 10 a quiet reverb. the amp also has much louder hum than my other inexpensive valve amp. why?!
