Hiss/Sawing kind of sound on certain notes

Purchased a BNIB HT1R MKII from someone who had two. Just opened, and fiddled with it.
I am hearing disturbing hiss/sawing sound - esp when I hit certain notes (like A anywhere on the fret). Possible to advise what may be causing it? DId i end up buying a faulty one?
