Post your Blackstar amp!
Yes it's always safe to go higher in ohms but never less. Don't put a 4ohm cab into an 8ohm jack in the head but the opposite, 8ohm cab to a 4ohm jack is A OKAY. You just lose a small amount of volume but so little you won't really notice. If you put a 16ohm cab into a 4ohm output jack again that's fine but you will notice a volume difference.treewiz wrote:Does the Id60 tvpH run safely with an 8 ohm cab such as the mesa cab you are using?

I used to have a 2 year old Blackstar ID:Core Stereo 20 modeling amp but sold it on my local Craigslist along with the FS-11 foot controller to get this instead. I was having issues getting Insider software to see the amp on Windows 10 so gave up on it. On Reverb I made an offer on this mint condition 8 month old Blackstar HT-1R combo amp. I got it on 2/1/2017 and right now exploring the tube tones on the clean channel boosting the 12AX7 using a DOD YJM308 Preamp Overdrive that I modified to DOD 250 grey spec. Essentially that is my overdrive channel with less noise. I got this amp to supplement my 6W hand-wired 1x12" tube combo which has no headphone practice support and to maybe try some direct recording. You can see part of it in the background behind my Pedaltrain Mini pedalboard. If it ever dies I'd probably replace it with the Blackstar HT-5R since it has an effects loop. For the HT-1R maybe I'll get a smaller Pedaltrain Nano for 3 or 4 pedals but otherwise it's fine with 1 overdrive pedal going straight in.
I run this rig using a Tech 21 Midi Moose, using only the onboard effects. My sound rips! 2 HTV112 cabs under an ID:60 head. Great rig for smaller stages, still looks big, but a smaller footprint than a 412.
